I wish the SFSU Museum Studies Student Association were going to see this exhibit for a start of the semester event instead of whatever they got going on at SFMOMA.
I have so many thoughts about this and am super interested to see how the exhibit turns out. I mean, it seems pretty othering, right? Especially the “us” language Lori Fogarty uses to describe to the exhibit, like the viewers are expected to be not black. And situating someone’s every day life as a curiosity, a learning experience. Man, I just don’t know. Need to see, for sure.
