I’m still thinking about your response to the OWS action at MoMA—just so many mixed feelings about museums and free days and endowments and corporate sponsorship and the privileged position of art museums in our culture over history museums but how troubling history and art museums can be and, of course, the field’s terrible object acquisition history and oh man, why do I always gravitate toward these fields with really mixed pasts (anthropology lol) and ugh. Museums’ roles in their communities! There’s so much to say, there are like 1.000 theses in there.
